So I fiddled with my CAS when I first dropped the engine in, because it wouldn't start initially. Then I figured out it was the SAFC, and it started fine. I never reset the timing after that. Eh, I forgot, and I wasn't running more than 6-8 pounds while I was breaking in the clutch. I drive it very easily for the next two months to get my 500 or so easy driving miles. So fast forward to this past Wednesday. My water injection needs refilling, and it's currently located under the nose panel, also where my PTU is. So I figure I'll set my timing while I'm in there. I warm it up and check the base timing. 10° BTDC. Wow, OK, now I'm excited.. I loosen the screws on the CAS, and it wouldn't budge. I guess it just got hot and tight to the powdercoated bracket. So I tapped it with a dowel and a rubber mallet to free it. It moves maybe a quarter inch counter-clockwise, so I figure that's about 5°. Warm it back up, and check the timing again. 15°, nice. Now, I'm not sure how much, if any of a difference I'm having reading my mark against the UR pulley mark, I'm gonna check for a FAQ on that now, but I'm pretty sure I'm at 15°. Holy shit. It's a new car. It friggin rips, every gear, from 2K up. I had a shit eating grin all day long on Wednesday, and little left over for Thursday. No pictures, just enjoying the ride :-)
